Exposing known terrorists to extreme cold and hours of rock music is TORTURE!!! Or so says the NY Slime now. They find that the way we have treated one of the terrorists who had information regarding the attacks on the US on 9/11 is torture. If you want to read the article in the NY Slime, here it is.
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/10/washington/10detain.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
Here is what the article says in a nutshell. Abu Zubaydah, the first Osama bin Laden henchman captured by the United States after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, had been stripped naked, put in a frigid room and forced to listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers at top volume. Zubaydah, who the NY Slime refers to as "Mr. Zubdaydah" had been wounded by a fire fight in Pakistan before being taken to a safe house in Thailand, where this "torture" occurred during the spring of 2002.
Okay... Let's recap the main points here.
1. A main Bin Laden henchman was captured.
2. When he was captured by the US, he was wounded from a fire fight in Pakistan.
3. He was stripped naked, put in a frigid room and made to listen to extremely loud rock music.
4. This happened in 2002 and the NY Crime is reporting it in September 2006.
Are you with me so far? Did I miss anything? Oh, yes I did. He was also one of the main operatives in the attack of 9/11.
Get out your pencils and paper, boys and girls. Let's do some math. Pay attention, there will be a quiz afterwards.
Does torturing someone by exposing their wounded body to extreme cold and loud music equal the deaths of over 3,000 people?
Alright, put down your pencils and let's check your answers. The answer you should have written down is NO. I will give extra credit for "**** No", "Are you kidding me?" and "Are you high?".
Now, here's the quiz. After reading this blog and reading the NY Slime's article, tell me where you find the justice. And again, I will offer extra credit if you can tell me WHY the NY Crime decided to publish this story in the first place. Bringing up something from over 4 years ago? I don't get it.
Besides, you can't call it torture unless you're blaring Yanni.
